How the Timeline Works
- Open Enrollment (Nov 1 – Jan 15): Everyone can enroll or change ACA plans without needing a special event.
- December 15: Critical deadline—enroll by this date for coverage starting January 1.
- Dec 16 – Jan 15: Enrollment here starts February 1.
- After January 15: Only those with qualifying life events can enroll (SEP).
- SEP: Most events allow a 60‑day window, sometimes extended to 90 days.
- Automatic Renewal: Keeps coverage if no action is taken, but review to avoid paying more.
