Obamacare in Miami: Your Questions Answered

Is your help really free?

Yes. Our help is free. Insurance carriers pay licensed agents like us, and we are paid the same no matter which plan you pick, so we work for you.

My premium went up for 2026. What can I do?

Prices rose across Florida this year after the extra federal help ended. For example, a single adult in Miami-Dade earning about $22,590 saw the same plan rise to about $81 a month in 2026, and family premiums rose 18 to 40 percent, with some families of four seeing up to 88 percent. Before you drop your plan, we compare every carrier and check the help you still qualify for.

Can I still enroll now that Open Enrollment is closed?

Open Enrollment for 2026 ended in January. A recent life change, like losing coverage, a new baby, a move, a marriage, or a lost job, opens a 60-day Special Enrollment window. If you did not have a change, Open Enrollment for 2027 starts November 1, and we can hold your spot.

When does my coverage actually start?

You can enroll in one short call, but coverage does not start that same day. It usually starts on the first of the next month. If you just had a baby, it can start the day the baby was born.

What does a plan actually cover?

Every Marketplace plan covers doctor visits, prescriptions, emergency care, hospital stays, free preventive care, maternity and newborn care, and mental health care. We match the network and deductible to your family and your doctors.

How many times will you contact me? Will I get spammed?

One friendly call to go over your options. No spam, no pressure. You can tell us to stop any time.

Am I obligated to enroll if I fill out the form?

No. We do not change anything until you say yes, and you can walk away at any point. You can also switch or cancel a plan later if your situation changes.

Do I need to be a U.S. citizen?

No. Lawfully present immigrants, including green card holders, can enroll and may get help paying. In a mixed-status family, the members who qualify can still get covered. We check your situation privately.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Hablamos español, every step. Researching for a Spanish-speaking parent? We guide them directly, in Spanish.

Is my personal information safe?

Yes. Your information is protected, never sold, and only used to check your options.

Do you help with anything besides health insurance?

Yes. We also help with life insurance, small-business group plans, and college planning. Ask your Madrina on the call.
